You represent that you are legally able to enter into these Terms and, if using the Service on behalf of an organization, you have authority to bind that organization.
3. User Content and Ownership
You retain ownership of your files and document content. PDFopen does not take ownership of user content.
You grant a limited, non-exclusive permission to process your content solely to operate the requested feature (for example, conversion, editing, and export).
4. Rights and Permissions You Must Have
You must only upload or process content you own or are legally authorized to use. You are solely responsible for permissions, licenses, and legal compliance for your content.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights.
- Upload stolen, unauthorized, or unlawful content.
- Distribute malware, abuse infrastructure, or attempt unauthorized access.
- Use the Service for fraud, harassment, or other illegal activity.
6. PDFopen Content Commitment
PDFopen is intended as a tool platform. We do not intentionally scrape, copy, or republish third-party documents from user uploads, and we do not claim copyright in your files.
7. Intellectual Property and Takedowns
We respect intellectual property rights. Copyright complaints should follow our DMCA policy. Repeated infringement may lead to suspension or access restrictions where appropriate.
8. Service Availability and Changes
Features may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time. We may add, modify, or remove functionality without notice.
9. No Legal or Professional Advice
PDFopen provides technical tools only and does not provide legal, financial, tax, or compliance advice.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PDFopen and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from use of the Service.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PDFopen and its operators from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from your content or violation of these Terms.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for violations of these Terms, legal requirements, or security reasons.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
Unless otherwise required by applicable consumer law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the Service operator is established, without regard to conflict of law rules.
If you operate this project, add your legal entity name, state/country, and dispute venue before production use.
15. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance.
